Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to promote the political engagement of migrants that have come to the UK and might feel isolated and alienated from British politics. This will hopefully lead to the increased voting representation of migrants in the UK.
It's all part of making a better world.
I want increased voting representation of migrants in the UK for its elections, referenda and local votes.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by migrants to the UK themselves, as they feel more included in the political running of their local areas and host nation. Particular areas of the country that have a more diverse population, such as London and Cardiff, will also see greater representation of migrant voters if they are better informed to engage in local politics.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Greater representation of migrant voters
Improved political education and understanding for voters
A more diverse electorate
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
If we see an increase in the number of migrant voters, we will know that they have been able to grapple with UK politics, having felt engaged enough to a point at which their voice is being heard nationally.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
