Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to increase the number of working class people applying to top jobs and being represented in the workforce of top jobs.
It's all part of making a better world.
A society that is more inclusive to send a message that social mobility matters and coming from a less privileged socio-economic background does not affect your ability to do well in life.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by people in low income backgrounds, ethnic minorities, young single mothers. The regions in the UK to benefit as an example will be in northern England, London as well as other deprived communities across the UK.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
We want more working class people to apply to these jobs that are dominated by middle/upper class people from the Oxbridge circle and went to private/grammar schools.
The increase of these disadvantaged people within the workforce of these companies as a %
To start a change in the general reality that persists in Britain that class, wealth and geography determines the level of success in life.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
When the % of people from low income households, ethnic minority, disabled and working class backgrounds by sector are at least proportional in top jobs as their populations in British society and this should also apply to the % of applications made to these higher class jobs/firms.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
