Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to embed global and international education in the school curriculum in England so that young people have the opportunity to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals and to collaborate with other young people in schools across the world.
It's all part of making a better world.
It will be a better place because school age children will be better informed about the issues that will matter in their lives in the future and will have the opportunity to be active and informed citizens who have taken on and understood viewpoints from other parts of the world.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly by the young people themselves in schools across England but it will spread to their parents and to community organisations such as NGOs which youngsters will feel empowered to join or create.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
A quantifiable percentage of the curriculum given over the global and international education.
An increase in the number of schools with equitable and sustainable partnerships in other parts of the world and/or in contrasting areas of the UK.
Teachers, school leaders and teacher trainers who feel empowered and informed to implement these changes.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
Before and after randomised surveys of schools and teacher training institutions. In schools highlighting changes in knowledge and attitudes regarding the global goals
Case studies from active schools outlining their work compiled by students and teachers.
Supportive statements from local and national politicians
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
