Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to develop a "response community" capacity that would pool all the resources from all organizations that have a role to play in marine spill response, so that all resources are used for optimum response performance.
It's all part of making a better world.
Everyone is responsible to lessen the impact of marine pollution, so anyone with the appropriate capacity should be called upon to take the appropriate actions. By pooling resources, response time will be shorter (less traveling distance), and by shorter response time, lesser damage will be caused by pollution, benefiting everyone.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by anyone whose livelihood is directly impacted by the health of the marine ecosystem. This being said, marine pollution being quite visible and a sensitive subject, I think "everyone" will benefit from this vision.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Shorter response times (pollution containment).
Cheaper overall responses (cost down; faster containment reduces number of unit needed and damage to environment)
Fewer losses to pollution damage (environmental and economic)
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
By monitoring the effects above.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
