Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to delineate conversations about intersectionality within the on-going climate crisis in order to ensure that the most vulnerable people are equipped with the resources, safeguarding, and agency that they need.
It's all part of making a better world.
Ultimately reducing the effects of the climate crisis for vulnerable people necessitates a focus on tackling climate change. However, given the current progress of the climate crisis, my vision for a better society would be one in which the major risks towards vulnerable people are reduced and mitigated as much as is possible.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by vulnerable groups worldwide. This includes anyone who will be more likely to be adversely affected by the climate crisis due to a number of factors, and needs an intersectional approach.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Vulnerable people are not overlooked in concerns about the climate crisis; they are represented and recognised in every conversation about climate.
Steps are made to mitigate and reduce the risks that vulnerable people face due to the climate crisis; from water scarcity to housing insecurity, risk reduction is at the forefront.
Agency and advocacy for vulnerable groups allows individuals and communities to engage in conversations about their livelihood at a national and international level.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
I will measure the success of my vision by measuring the safeguarding of vulnerable groups against the effects of the climate crisis, as the crisis increases.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
