Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to craft a policy on education reform and environmental protection.
It's all part of making a better world.
I want to see an engaged citizenry that holds leadership to account, that equips the citizenry with the necessary skills to be to live better lives.
To protect the environment and mitigate climate change matters,Zambia has in recent years experienced massive deforestation sever flooding and drought all affecting food security and the well being of everyone.I want to advocate for the banning of charcoal.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by everyone, the aged, men, women, children but more so the young people who must embrace, champion and demand action to realize a better future for us all.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
An enlightened and engaged society that is not afraid to ask for and demand accountability from our leaders.
Effectively ban the use of charcoal in all urban centers as an initially step to protect our depleting forests and encourage the use of natural gas and solar for heating, lighting and cooking.
A better society that improves the well being of all its citizens and communities that appreciate the value of education, research and protection of the environment.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
When I see that citizens are able to demand for accountability, that people are better equipped to understand their environment and be in a position to effect change. When I see wholesale reforms in our education sector that places emphasis on practical skills as well as theory.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
