Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to closely attract the attention of the Nigerian government towards the rapid spread of drug an its abuse in a particular Local Government Area in Abuja. The youth are mostly into this menace and if the prevalence of drug abuse in the local community is not tackled with a sense of urgency it would become the 'birth-house' or 'delivery room' for criminals in the whole of Abuja
It's all part of making a better world.
I want to see a community where youth become advocates against the use of illicit drugs in their community. I want to see that these young citizens are gradually led to drop drugs for education and drop crime for the ability to take positive responsibility for their future. And finally, I want to see a healthy community where the high rate of youth death is maximally reduced.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by the youth of this community. However, the ripple effect would be massive because once they are redeemed, it therefore means that so many other things or people becomes redeemed. For example, a family having a youth as a drug addict enjoys happiness once again. The community would enjoy reduced crime rate. Mourning the untimely death of young people become minim
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Former youth drug addicts who are now Champions against drug abuse
More young people having access to education
Having more youth who have either become entrepreneurs or gainfully employed
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
My objective is to closely work with all the stakeholders in this particular community: Religious Leaders, Village Head, Youth drug addicts, parents of drug addicts. These person would automatically be my sources of firsthand feedback. I would also measure my success based on the time-frame I have set for this project. Finally, I would create a helpline through which information could be easily received.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
