Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to build a local community prepared to motivate and sustain youth participation, and eager to make the youth voice heard.
It's all part of making a better world.
Once correctly implemented, this policy will contribute to helping young people develop competences in campaigning and networking, establish long-lasting cross-sectorial collaborations, keep youth policies among the priorities of the regional political agenda and, ultimately, enhance youth active citizenship.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by young people in our community. However, considering the benefit derived from active citizenship the entire society –at local and regional levels – will be benefited. Youth associations, youth councils, youth clubs and other stakeholders related to the youth field will be positively impacted by the policy too.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Increase in the number of youth initiatives supported by the local and/or regional governments
A rise in the youth vote (from an earlier age)
Social and political recognition of youth participation and youth work
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
In order to assess the expected results, we will keep in contact with youth organisations and youth groups to carry out interviews and evaluations. Periodic meetings with the regional Youth Institute and decision-makers will be held every 6 months. Statistics on the youth vote in local elections, as well as the number of youth-led initiatives within the next 4 years, will be useful too.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
