Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to achieve a change in the educational systems all around the world. I want nations to prioritise high quality, liberal, humanist, citizen education, as well as freedom in the arts, and methods of assessment which are inclusive and which do not discriminate or overburden. We need to cultivate humanity, civil identities, and civic virtue in all students.
It's all part of making a better world.
Reduced violence. Increased diplomacy and civility. Increased life and work and recreational opportunities. Reduced crime and recidivism. A more humane prison system/system of punishment. Global-wide like-minded citizens on a par, working together. Reduced hostility. Increased sense of "relating" with others. Increased moral and intellectual level of the public. Enabled citizens, flourishing democracy.
This is really going to help people.
Mainly the future generation of students and youth. But we need to invest in their education, so as produce a greater civilisation for tomorrow, greater leaders with a sense of civic and political responsibility, greater appreciators of justice, equality, health, and greater handlers of power. We will create a safer, more productive society in which everyone can partake in the political conversation.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Increased rate of students attending university.
Reduced rate of crime, national and international, civil and between nations.
Reduced rates of wrongful accusations, corruption, power abuse, recidivism, arms use.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
Data, interviews, demographics.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
