Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?

I want to to increase the participation of young people in decision making with specific focus on women. Women are the most affected by underdevelopment but in my country have the least representation in decision making . The idea is to increase young people's representation with 50% being women. Young people (male or female) are basically more inclined to feminism than their older counterparts.

It's all part of making a better world.

The goal is to have actionable steps defined at both county and national government level mandating the inclusion of young people in leadership (40 yea and under) up to an agreed percentage and with the ratio of that increase standing at 1:1 (Males is to females). In Kenya for instance the ratio of men to women stands at 98: 100 which indicates that leadership should ideally take on an almost similar ratio.

This is really going to help people.

The impact of my vision will be felt mainly by women in rural communities in arid and semi-arid areas. This is the group that mostly understand what effects the underachievement of the SDGs have in everyday life. The next set of beneficiaries will be women in white collar/corporate spaces as they'll be allowed a larger participation in decision making and coulof my vision will be mainly felt by

It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:

Young people have a significant presence in county and national government

The ratio of males to females in county and national governments is equalized

Participation of women in rural arid and semi-arid communities in government processes and public participation exercises

I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.

I will know if my vision has been achieved through administering an externally conducted baseline, midterm and end line survey. Additionally, the implementing team will carry out internally conducted surveys on targeted demographics and implementing teams. Lastly, the idea is to have case study persons in all targeted groups on whom change is evaluated continually.

Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
