Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?

I want all young people to enjoy their lives, reach their full potential and make good transition to adulthood.

Young people should have a voice and a chance to be involved in shaping the world around them because they will be living in it for years to come.

Young people should be able to achieve their ambitions, develop positive relationships and make worthwhile contribution to their communities.

It's all part of making a better world.

There will be a supportive and safe environment for young people to enable their growth and development, where they can have access to the services they need.

The society they live in will be more inclusive, equal and diverse. This society will respect and empower young people, care about their safety and wellbeing and remain positive about their future and their place and role in today's world.

This is really going to help people.

The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by all young people in the United Kingdom from different backgrounds and with diverse experiences.

Other beneficiaries will include society as a whole, the families of these young people, schools and other institutions like local authorities and government departments which engage with and are responsible for young people.

It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:

Young people have access to both universal services and targeted support through locally provided safe spaces and activities.

Young people are involved in policy-making and have a voice in the decision-making processes that affect them both locally and nationally.

Young people can enjoy their lives, reach their full potential and make a good transition to adulthood.

I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.

- Change in policy which signals clear responsibilities for adequately funded youth services (incl. the amount of funding available)
- Evidence that decision-makers are actively including young people in their processes (i.e. in local authorities, central government, youth organisations, etc)
- Improvement in key indicators which relate to young people (health, education, employment, happiness, etc.)

Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
