Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want a Nigeria where all people, even in the most remote areas, attain the right to survival and access to good healthcare.
It's all part of making a better world.
With Nigeria being one of the countries with the worst health systems in the world, if we are able to reduce inequities in health through development of strategies that will decrease the burden of infectious disease and the leading causes of child and women mortality in Nigeria. We will have a country that has decrease its mortality rate and can boast about succeeding in achieving SDG3.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by Nigerians. So far we have begun working in Northern Nigeria, as that is where most of volunteers are but with a bit more effort and soon the whole country will boast about good health services for its citizens.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
To improve equity in health, reduce health risks, promote healthy lifestyles and settings, and respond to the underlying determinants of health
To reduce the mortality rate of citizens in the country.
To give those in remote rural areas access to health education through advocacy and health literacy.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
I will measure my vision with the number of lives saved, number of communities given health education, number of citizens that have access to health insurance and Nigeria as a country being counted as not bottom last but top countries with good healthcare service.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
