Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I intend to drive a global policy in association with the United Nations for protection of rights of the LGBTQIA community. In my view, this requires a global policy prescription and a positive intervention. Individual governments should be required to ratify global conventions and implement domestic legislations. Given my qualification as a lawyer I believe I will be able to lead and influence the same.
It's all part of making a better world.
My passion is to make our world a more inclusive place by ensuring equal rights and opportunities to the LGBTQIA community across the globe. I intend to mainstream LGBTQIA community and eradicate homophobia and transphobia that persists globally. I would like to see the world being more humane and sensitive towards LGBTQIA persons.
This is really going to help people.
The beneficiary of my vision will be the LGBTQIA community across nationalities, religion and culture. I strongly believe that the strength and integrity of a society reflects in the manner in which its minority and marginalised communities are protected. Therefore, a positive intervention in the lives of LGBTQIA persons is a gain for the society as a whole.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Mainstream LGBTQIA community through access to equal rights and opportunities
Improve the quality of life of LGBTQIA persons and ensure they live a life of dignity and self-identity
Access to health care (including counselling for gender dysphoria), sanitation, employment opportunities, protection against violence and crimes
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
When a marginalised group elevates its quality of life, I believe the results will be tangible. With a dedicated global network who work on empowerment and upliftment of the LGBTQIA persons, I believe measuring the rate of progress on various parameters such as access to education, employment, health care, etc will be quantifiable.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
