Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?

I have a vision that youth hubs should be mandatory and a legal requirement in all council and social housing estates to help combat the growing issue of gang violence in the UK. All youth hubs should have a police officer, a probation officer, a councillor and a youth mentor to engage with young people and normalise relationships with authority that are not as negative as they often know it.

It's all part of making a better world.

I hope to achieve lower rates of gang violence, providing a safe-haven for all young people and to form positive police and public relationships at a time where the institution of policing (and justifiably so), are widely seen as the enemy.

This is really going to help people.

The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by young people growing up in deprived areas of the UK that feel the only way to move forward is via gang involvement and violence.

It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:

Less young people will be involved in gang violence.

Public perception of the police.

More relaxed communities with less fear amongst its members.

I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.

- Rates of gang violence (Quantitative data)
- How do the young people attending feel about the police now? (Interviews and/or questionnaires)
- interviews and surveys with the police to determine whether they feel their community is safer now?

Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
