Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
I want to lobby the government to consider the rising number of youth unemployment, especially, of the educated young people as an emergency which calls for immediate intervention.
It's all part of making a better world.
I intend to have the Kenyan government empower her educated young people to have decent employment. This will help improve the productivity of this rising group of young people and hence a highly skilled and productive workforce. Kenya will set a positive precedent for other states to follow in meaningfully engaging the educated youth in nation-building. This inturn will improve public service delivery.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by first, educated young people who are annually churned out of the higher learning institutions into the job market. This group is neglected by the Kenyan government's affirmative action plans for curbing youth unemployment.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Increased absorption rates of graduates into the productive job market.
Increased earning of the youth to make them self-sufficient and independent of politicians.
Increased public service delivery in the public sector to spur overall economic growth and development.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
.By determining the absorption rate of graduates into various government development projects.
.Checking whether there are increased avenues for the graduates to be competitively absorbed into the job market based on merit.
.Improved public service delivery after incorporating the innovations and ingenuity of the young graduates.
. Reduced social crimes and radicalization of the idle educated youths.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
