Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
Having witnessed a lot of the women in Nigeria loosing the source of their livelihood and economic sustainability during the lock-down as a result of lack of access to financial products, I decided to work on policy that will increase the percentage of women that have access to and actually enjoy financial inclusion in Nigeria, using a single state in the southeastern Nigeria to start.
It's all part of making a better world.
The policy will address the empowerment of women through financial inclusion so that women, especially those in rural environments, will be able to at all times access financial products and services in order to do their businesses with ease and carry out their livelihood activities to support their families.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by women who are in micro-scale enterprises and bread winners of their families, especially in the rural areas. The policy will be targeted at this class of women in Anambra State, in the southeastern Nigeria at the first instant.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
80% increase in the number of women who have bank account.
80% increase in the number of women who can do mobile transactions on their phones.
80% increase in the number of women who are willing to use mobile applications to transfer and receive payment in their business.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
To measure the success or otherwise of the policy, I will use information from the data base of the various financial institutions in the State. This will show the number of women that started using financial products and services in the period of the campaign and after.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
