Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
For youth work to be recognised as a distinct profession
It's all part of making a better world.
Youth work is recognised as a distinct profession requiring those who call themselves youth workers to be trained. Young People have access to high quality informal educational opportunities, to support their holistic development, including opportunities to participate meaningfully in decision making processes, to make positive change in their communities.
This is really going to help people.
The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by young people, local communities, society across the UK.
It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:
Youth Work is recognised as a distinct profession
Young people are able to access high quality youth work delivered by skilled and trained practitioners
young people feel more connected to and valued by their communities
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.
Youth Work is recognised as a distinct profession, with a register of practitioners. Youth work is valued and resourced, given statutory statues. Young people have access to multiple opportunities that meet their needs and interests.
Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
