Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?

Democracies desperately need to be reformed. I want to safeguard people's right to know, to protect them from political injustices and manipulations by empowering people to use information to supervise and monitor government performance. I want to give people a stake in overseeing political processes and to have the means to expose the inadequacies of their governments as members of the civil populace.

It's all part of making a better world.

Governments will be held to a greater accountability when they fail to deliver or reveal the information and processes that the public demands to know. The population will have more power to "check" the government, to rule out filmsy and unstandardized practices and decision-making processes. In the long run, a more responsible and meticulous political culture should emerge from the vigorous monitoring.

This is really going to help people.

The impact of my vision will be mainly felt by young people that are disillusioned with the government. I feel that my policy vision can be part of a greater initiative that compliments youth participation in government and politics. As it is mainly young people who are most fervent about monitoring government performance, and most vigilant against government propaganda and dishonesty.

It's not just about having an idea though - here are the things I know I can achieve:

Increased adoption and accuracy in government departments' internal bookkeeping

Observable different in government departments' willingness to disclose information

More comprehensive terms and conditions for information disclosure acts and the like policies that empowers people to demand for information publicisation for society's common interest.

I'm going to make this happen, and this is how I know it'll make a difference.

When there are increased instances of information disclosure in departments that previously are not performing well.
When there is an observable difference in how politicians approach q&a sessions that demand them to disclosure information to the public.
When a norm is created and then it becomes standardized practice and the basic code of conduct across government departments

Thanks for listening to me. Will you help me build a better world?
